TIME AI 100 HONOREE WILL HATCHER JOINS ORIGIN STØRIES AS STORYTELLING AND AI MUSIC LEAD FOR "MØNKS"
ORIGIN STØRIES has appointed TIME AI 100 honoree Will Hatcher as Storytelling and AI Music Lead. His first project with the studio is MØNKS, an animated AI mini-series co-created with founder Sean Bradford. Combining human artistry and AI workflows, MØNKS reimagines the workplace comedy genre as monks in a monastery forced to embrace startup culture and emerging tech.

ORIGIN STØRIES APPOINTS WILL HATCHER AS STORYTELLING AND AI MUSIC LEAD FOR ANIMATED COMEDY SERIES MØNKS
[Amsterdam, 25 September] – ORIGIN STØRIES, the creative tech studio building the personalized AI layer for entertainment announced the appointment of Will Hatcher as its new Storytelling and AI Music Lead. This role is pivotal in helping the studio continue to evolve in an ever-growing AI landscape. Hatcher's first project will be the AI mini show "MØNKS", co-created with ORIGIN STØRIES founder, Sean Bradford. Hatcher is best known for his viral AI song "BBL Drizzy."
"MØNKS", uses a combination of human artistry (Bradford penned the script and additional music for the show) as well as advanced AI workflows. The show also allows viewers to personalize their own characters which are then used to create the cast. "MØNKS" is set in an ancient monastery that has been forced to embrace technology to generate income, navigating the complicated arrival of AI and new technologies like Blockchain/Crypto.
Shaping the Sound of MØNKS
Will Hatcher will be responsible for integrating music and sound design to enhance the show’s unique tone—described as The Office meets Lord of the Rings meets Silicon Valley.
This includes penning original AI music for the show as well as using a variety of AI Music tools to create sonic elements. Bradford is also writing original music for the show, but only using AI in post-production.
Building the World of MØNKS
"We wanted to push the boundaries of what’s possible with AI tools by combining original human ideas with the speed and scale of AI," said founder Sean Bradford. "Before this technology, a project like MØNKS would have been impossible to greenlight."
But now we are able to bring bigger visions to life while also finding ways to include new audiences.
"We're experimenting with personalized storytelling routes as well as a backstage studio where people can play around with the characters and make their own scenes. ORIGIN STØRIES is part of the Eleven Labs Grant program and we use their technology for some of the voicework and features in the "MØNKS STUDIO" SPACE.
MØNKS arrives at a time when AI animation is rapidly gaining momentum — from emerging platforms like Showrunner to OpenAI’s recent announcement of a $30M animated feature. ORIGIN STØRIES is carving out its own path in this space by showing how smaller, independent teams can leverage these tools to bring ambitious projects to life.
The series’ visual identity, spearheaded by Sean Bradford, combines a variety of workflows, models, and tools, all which can be accessed in VPM.studio, the visual production manager built by ORIGIN STØRIES.
The project began as part of the builder community, Sozu Haus, and was further developed through Mantle Network and the Hackquest program.
